Defense

Planetary defense structures protect your planet from enemy attacks. They fight automatically and partially rebuild after battles.


Defense Stats

Use the Defense Stats button in the build queue to see your defenses with research bonuses applied. This view shows current Armor, Shield, and Weapon values so you can compare defenses using your real tech levels.

Defense Mechanics

Automatic Combat

Defenses fight automatically when attacked:

  • No player action required
  • Combines with stationed fleet
  • Protects resources

Rebuild Chance

70% of destroyed defenses rebuild for free:

  • Only applies to defenses
  • Ships don't rebuild
  • Reduces defensive losses

No Rapidfire Against (mostly)

Most defenses lack rapidfire:

  • Exception: Some ships have rapidfire vs defenses
  • Bombers are defense-killers

Defense Strategy

Early Game

  1. Rocket Launchers (cheapest)
  2. Light Lasers (better damage/cost)
  3. Shield Dome (protection layer)

Mid Game

Late Game

  1. Plasma Turrets
  2. Large Shield Dome
  3. Anti-Ballistic Missiles

Defense vs Fleet

Advantages of Defense

  • 70% rebuild after battles
  • No fuel cost
  • Automatic protection
  • Always present

Disadvantages

  • Can't attack
  • Vulnerable to Bombers
  • IPMs destroy them
  • Limited tactical flexibility

Balance

Most players combine:

  • Defense for passive protection
  • Fleet for active operations
