Drive Upgrade
At Impulse Drive Level 5, Small Cargo switches to Impulse Drive:
- Impulse Drive now boosts all ships by +20% per level, so Small Cargos benefit even before the switch
- Combustion bonus still applies (+10% per level)
- Impulse levels increase fuel consumption by 5% per level for all ships
- Hyperspace Drive adds +30% speed per level to all ships and increases fuel by 10% per level
Strategy
Strengths
- Fast for its role
- Cheap to build
- Drive upgrade available
- 10,000 cargo capacity
Weaknesses
- Fragile in combat
- Less efficient than Large Cargo for bulk transport
Use Cases

Calculate cargo needed:
Cargo Ships = Expected Loot / 10,000
Fleetsaving
Small Cargos can:
- Carry resources away from planet
- Return after danger passes
- Save from overnight raids
