Terraformer
The Terraformer expands usable surface area on your planet, providing additional building fields.
Overview
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Planetary Development |
| Function | Adds building fields |
| Prerequisites | Nanite Factory 1, Energy Technology 12 |
| Special | Cannot be destroyed |
Description
Through advanced environmental engineering, the Terraformer creates additional habitable zones on your planet. This process converts previously unusable terrain into buildable fields. Once built, the Terraformer cannot be demolished.
Field Bonus
Effect
Each Terraformer level adds fields to your planet:
Additional Fields = 5 * Terraformer Level
Fields Table
| Level | Additional Fields | Total Added |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 5 |
| 2 | 5 | 10 |
| 3 | 5 | 15 |
| 4 | 5 | 20 |
| 5 | 5 | 25 |
| 10 | 5 | 50 |
Construction Costs
Formula
Metal = 50,000 * 2^Level
Crystal = 100,000 * 2^Level
Deuterium = 0
Energy = 1,000 * 2^Level (consumed, not stored)
Cost Table
| Level | Metal | Crystal | Energy Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50,000 | 100,000 | 1,000 |
| 2 | 100,000 | 200,000 | 2,000 |
| 3 | 200,000 | 400,000 | 4,000 |
| 4 | 400,000 | 800,000 | 8,000 |
| 5 | 800,000 | 1,600,000 | 16,000 |
Note: Energy is consumed during construction but not continuously used.
Prerequisites
Before building Terraformer:
- Nanite Factory Level 1
- Energy Technology Level 12
Strategy
When to Terraform
Consider Terraformer when:
- Running out of building fields
- Planet has good production but small size
- Long-term investment on key planets
Cost vs New Colony
Compare costs:
- Terraformer: Expensive per field
- New colony: Free fields but more management
Cannot Be Demolished
Important: You cannot tear down a Terraformer!
- The fields remain permanent
- Takes up a building slot itself
- Plan carefully before building
Best Candidates
Prioritize Terraformer on:
- Main planet (regardless of size)
- High-production planets
- Planets you plan to keep long-term
Planet Size Reference
Typical planet field ranges by position:
| Position | Field Range |
|---|---|
| 1-3 | 40-140 |
| 4-6 | 100-180 |
| 7-9 | 120-200 |
| 10-12 | 100-180 |
| 13-15 | 60-140 |
Middle positions generally have larger planets.
