How ABMs Work

Automatic Defense

When Interplanetary Missiles attack:

  1. ABMs automatically launch
  2. Each ABM destroys one IPM
  3. Remaining IPMs hit defenses

Interception

IPMs Intercepted = min(ABM Count, IPM Count)
Remaining IPMs = IPM Count - ABM Count

Storage

Missile Silo Capacity

The Missile Silo stores both ABMs and IPMs:

Total Slots = Silo Level * 20
ABM = 1 slot each
IPM = 2 slots each

Strategy

Defense Planning

  • Maintain ABM stock against likely threats
  • More ABMs = better IPM protection
  • Can't rebuild instantly - preemptive stocking needed

When to Stock ABMs

  • Valuable defenses worth protecting
  • Active enemies with IPM capability
  • Turtle playstyle

Cost Analysis

ABMs cost 10,100 resources total. Compare to:

  • Defenses they protect
  • Likely IPM attack cost

Limitations

ABMs only counter IPMs:

  • Don't help in regular combat
  • Can't attack enemy planets
  • Purely defensive
